Intercultural reflection on teaching brings higher education teachers from different institutions and countries together to share and discuss each other’s teaching. Technologies enable participants to talk to each other and share information and recordings of teaching across disciplinary boundaries and national borders. This case study outlines the legal and policy context that needs to be considered, raises awareness of potential barriers to participation and considers the ethical approval processes if data is collected for research purposes. Advice based on the experience of the project team, examples and critical incidents that arose is provided throughout.

Interkulturelle Reflexion über Lehre bringt Hochschullehrende von verschiedenen Institutionen und aus verschiedenen Ländern zusammen, um sich gegenseitig Einblicke in die Lehre zu ermöglichen und gemeinsam über Lehre zu diskutieren. Technologien ermöglichen es Teilnehmenden jenseits institutioneller und nationaler Grenzen, miteinander ins Gespräch zu kommen und Lehrvideos und andere Informationen auszutauschen. Diese Fallstudie skizziert den datenschutzrechtlichen Kontext, macht auf potentielle Schwierigkeiten bei der Teilnahme aufmerksam und beschreibt den Umgang mit ethischen Grundsätzen und Zustimmungsprozessen bei der Datenerhebung für Forschungszwecke. Basierend auf den Erfahrungen des Projektteams sowie auf Beispielen und kritischen Situationen, werden Hinweise für die eigene Umsetzung bereitgestellt.

La riflessione interculturale sull’insegnamento riunisce docenti di diverse università e diversi paesi al fine di discutere e condividere idee e riflessioni sull’insegnamento. Le tecnologie digitali consentono ai partecipanti di parlare tra loro e condividere informazioni e registrazioni dell’insegnamento oltre i confini disciplinari e nazionali. Questo caso di studio si propone di inquadrare il contesto giuridico e politico da considerare al fine di aumentare la consapevolezza sui potenziali ostacoli alla partecipazione, e approfondendo le questioni relative all’approvazione etica laddove i dati vengono raccolti per scopi di ricerca. Il caso fornisce consigli e spunti di riflessione a partire dall’esperienza del team di progetto, e da esempi e incidenti critici sorti nella sua implementazione.
